I have been taking my imported trucks and cars to Santa Cruz Imported truck service for over 30 years, back when they called themselves Seabright imported truck service. They have always done a great job in making sure my vehicle is well serviced and safe. Although I will miss Mary and Sue, Denver and Stephanie have been the next best thing and have continued to offer the best automobile service in the county. I highly recommend them.

This place is the BEST. They fixed my van fast and saved me a ton of money, and didn’t try to add unnecessary repairs. They are very busy, because it’s the best, most honest shop in town, and people know it. I wouldn’t take my van anywhere else. I can’t recommend them enough! Good solid people running a good solid shop.
I cannot recommend this repair shop highly enough. I bought a Toyota truck that wasn’t running thinking it was a minor problem. I have some experience repairing cars so I thought it would be an easy fix but it’s hard out to be a nightmare. I was forced to bring it to two garages including the local Toyota dealer who both charged me over $100 each and could not tell me what was wrong with it. I found out about this garage and made an appointment and was lucky to get in and just 1 weeks time. Denver was the one who took on this nasty job. It was not an easy fix but he stuck with it until the end where he determined that the fuel injectors that I installed were defective. He went way above the call of duty and exhibited incredible patience. I’m the price you charge me was astonishingly minimal. So if you have a imported truck or SUV and you have the time to wait for an appointment do not go anywhere else!
I don’t have a truck, so I thought it was a little weird when a friend recommended this place to me. But after getting scammed by a place in Scotts Valley, I really needed a place to take my Prius.
I’ve been taking my car to this place ever since (3 or 4 years now), and been very happy with the service. They’re unbelievably honest, give you the whole story, and have fair prices. They never try to upsell and are super friendly. They also have a very friendly pooch.

Incredibly honest shop.
I brought my 2015 Subaru Legacy in here to get checked out. I was hearing a very faint noise above 25 mph. Over the phone Marty suggested it could be a bad wheel bearing (a known issue on these cars). I set the appointment and brought my car in. It seems like appointments are roughly a week out.
Marty and team checked out the car. They couldn’t find anything wrong with it. They suspected that the noise was probably an artifact from the suspension, but didn’t believe that it was worth the money to narrow down what it could be. 3000 miles later (a little late, but I wanted to make sure they were correct), car still runs like a champ with no unusual wear on any components.
I 100% appreciate the honesty and the incredibly low diagnostic costs. I would not hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone who asks.
I suspect the only problem you might run across is in trying to get a same day appointment.

I’ve been a customer for about 5 years and every time I come in they provide excellent customer service and amazing quality repairs. While other repair shops will attempt to nickel and dime you, SCITS is fair and honest. I have a 98 4Runner with 217K on the clock, and while I was contemplating letting it go for something newer and flashier, they’re collective two cents helped me decide to keep it. Instead of pushing me to get this and that repaired, they were honest about what the car really needed; they were able to relate to the idea of wanting to fall in love with my car again. I won’t take my 4Runner anywhere else.
And dog friendly! AND they’ll geek out on mountain bikes with you!
My girlfriend and I came here to investigate an interesting noise her Honda Accord made whenever she turned. It ended up being her car was leaking power steering fluid, and the repairs would cost over a grand. The owners were more than forthcoming about this, and suggests that we hold off on the repairs, and just replace our fluids a bit more often than we usually did, as the leak wasn’t that bad, and we could probably last a while without the repairs.
We left the car overnight, they took it up to examine the whole thing, they replaced our power steering fluid, and gave us extensive advice. When we finally went to pay, we were expecting (and would have been happy to pay) around $75 for the full inspection, plus us taking up a spot in their garage over night. But they only charged us $20, even WITH the fluid they used for our car. We were so happy with them (plus these people were so genuinely nice through the whole experience), that we knew right then and there that we would ONLY go to this repair shop from now on.
It’s been nearly 3 months, and our car hasn’t had any issues (so their advice must have been pretty sound). These people’s advice saved us a thousand dollars we would have paid if going to a less honest repair shop. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
This is the ONLY place I will take my little Rav4! Great service, good prices and nice people. I have never been BSed into getting something that my car did not need.
It is a little hard to get an appointment here sometimes, BUT I am always willing to wait to have these guys work on my car.
Hands down, the best place to get your Japanese Truck (or car) fixed in Santa Cruz county. Honest, friendly, and dependable. I have been bringing my 2005 Toyota Tacoma (203K miles) here for the past 4 years, and they do a wonderful job.
I can’t recommend this place enough. As a recent resident who didn’t have a trusted mechanic in the area (and as a young woman who has often has mechanics try to scam me), I didn’t have any expectations for this place. But my car was overheating (a 98 Toyota Corolla) and I looked up an imported car place on yelp and found Marty and his gang. I called them and let them know what the problem was and over the phone he told me how to keep my car from overheating until he could see me (an action I respected since he didn’t need to do that). Then after I dropped my car off, my uncle (who is also a mechanic) called him to size up his quote and proudly reported back to me “these are good people. It’s a really fair price.” I got my car back super fast and he even found another problem and advised me to get it looked at sooner rather than later. Zero fear tactics or price gouging. He was really friendly and his wife was very accommodating. When I came to pay for it, I found I left my wallet at home and he let me DRIVE MY CAR HOME WITHOUT PAYING TO GO GET MY WALLET! I came back immediately and paid and left this review. What an awesome man and awesome shop. Really recommend it for young women looking for a quality mechanic who won’t screw with them.
These guys did an unbelievable job with my 05 Tacoma. I had a transmission fluid flush and mentioned at the same time a vibration coming from the drive train. They diagnosed it as the rear U joint and replaced it for $115 parts and labor.
The whole truck was done while I was at work. Easy 1 day fix.
They are also very helpful and courteous

Seriously. I hate finding car mechanics. I always feel like I’m going to get ripped off. Either directly, by being overcharged, or indirectly, as they chase problems endlessly without finding the actual issue.
I started with these guys working on my Isuzu Trooper, and have started bringing my Lexus to them as well. It’s often less expensive that I thought it was going to be, and I always get to talk to someone who actually worked on my car, not some CSR who doesn’t know much about cars, and only serves to filter information.
